These are the folds next to the mouth that form over time, usually in response to aging, weight changes and changes to the facial structure over time.

There are two main ways to treat nasolabial folds:

  1. Restore cheek volume in the mid face if this is contributing to the prominent folds. This will often significantly improve the appearance of the folds.

2. Directly apply filler to the folds themselves, as seen above in a young woman in her early 30s.

The amount of filler needed will depend on the degree of volume loss in the mid-face, and the depth of the folds, which will be reviewed at 3-4 weeks to determine if more is needed.
